Prof. (Dr) Shiv Kumar Sarin (Vice-Chairman)

Prof. (Dr) Shiv Kumar Sarin is an astute liver specialist, a gifted teacher, a translational scientist and a leader in public health. He has worked towards launch of national viral hepatitis control program and Fatty Liver disease screening program. He served as the President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences and Asian Pacific Association of Liver (APASL). As chairman of BOGs of the Medical Council of India, he introduced the NEET and Exit examinations. He is recipient of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Excellence Award, Henry L. Bockus ‘Gold Medal’ by World Gastroenterology Organization, International Prize of The World Academy of Medical Sciences (TWAS), International Recognition Award of EASL, and ‘Padma Bhushan’ by the GoI in 2007.

Mrs. Yamini Kumar Jaipuria​

Mrs. Yamini Kumar Jaipuria is the whole time Director of Cosmo First Limited and the Managing Trustee of Cosmo Foundation and Zigly Foundation, the community outreach initiatives of Cosmo First Limited. She has a rich experience of over 18 years with General Electric (GE) as Vice President, Human Resources for GE Capital Europe, Asia and India. She is the recipient of the GE India President Award 5 times in her career, is the past India member of the International Fair Play Committee which works under the auspices of the United Nations and the International Olympic committee. She has also been conferred with The Indian Achievers Clubs 50 under 50 acclaim 2020, Excellence Award for Social Service by MSOSA 2024 and Fortune Women’s Leadership Award for her exceptional contribution to women’s leadership and CSR.

Prof. (Dr) Dorairaj Prabhakaran
President-Elect, World Heart Federation,
Executive Director of Centre for Chronic Disease Control

Prof. D. Prabhakaran is a cardiologist and epidemiologist by training. He is an internationally renowned researcher and is the Executive Director of Centre for Chronic Disease Control, New Delhi. He is currently the President-Elect of the World Heart Federation and the immediate past Chair of the International Society of Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Prevention. He is an Honorary Professor in the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK, an Adjunct Professor at the Emory University, Atlanta, USA, a Visiting Scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health, USA and an International Fellow at the Population Research Institute, McMaster University, Canada. His work spans from mechanistic research to understanding the causes of increased propensity of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) among Indians to developing solutions for CVD through translational research and human resource development. Prof. Prabhakaran is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India, a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy and an Adjunct Professor at the Emory University. He has received funding from NHLBI, Wellcome Trust, the European Commission and several other international and national funding bodies. He has mentored over 50 post-doctoral and doctoral students so far. He has authored several chapters and over 700 scholarly papers with an H index of 118. He was listed as the topmost researcher in Medicine in India in terms of publications for 2009-2014 by Scopus and Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. He is the lead editor of the Cardiovascular Disease Volume of the latest Disease Control Priorities Project. He is the lead editor of Tandon’s textbook of Cardiology, a comprehensive book on Cardiology for Indian Cardiologists and Fellows. Recognizing his work in Chronic Diseases and Global Health, he was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from Glasgow University.

Prof. (Dr) Narendra Kumar Arora
Executive Director, The INCLEN Trust International

Prof. (Dr) Narendra Kumar Arora, a distinguished paediatrician and public health expert, is currently serving as the President of AIIMS Bilaspur (H.P.). He earlier served as President of AIIMS-Deoghar, Jharkhand (2020–2025) and AIIMS-Patna, Bihar (2018–2022). Formerly, he was Professor of Paediatrics (Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition) at AIIMS-New Delhi until 2007. Since 2005, he has been the Executive Director of The INCLEN Trust International and also served as Executive Director of the Child Health and Nutrition Research Initiative (CHNRI) from 2010 to 2014. He is an accomplished medical professional who dedicated his career to advancing maternal & child health, infectious diseases & immunization, and public health policy, leaving a significant impact both nationally and internationally. Dr Arora has devoted his career to advancing maternal and child health, infectious disease prevention, immunization, and public health policy. Internationally, he has held key leadership roles at the World Health Organization (WHO), including as a member of the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on Immunization, Strategic and Technical Advisory Group of Experts (STAGE) for Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health & Nutrition, the Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety (GACVS), the COVAX Independent Allocation of Vaccines Group (IAVG), and Technical Advisory Group on COVID-19 Vaccine Composition (TAG-CO-VAC). At the national level, Dr Arora played a pivotal role in shaping India’s immunization and public health strategies. He has been a core member of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) and chaired several key committees during the COVID-19 pandemic. He chairs the National Certification Committee for Polio Eradication (NCCPE) since 2014 and was its coordinator between 1998 and 2014, and also chairs the National Verification Committee for Measles, Rubella and Congenital Rubella Syndrome elimination. Dr. Arora leads various research initiatives focusing on clinical epidemiology, trials, program evaluation, health systems improvement and policy development. He established super-specialty Pediatric Gastroenterology & Hepatology in AIIMS New Delhi. He also led nationwide research priority setting for maternal, new-born, and child health and nutrition in India. His work has influenced health policy decisions, ensuring that they are evidence-based and aligned with the needs of the population. He collaborates with national and international health organizations, fostering partnerships that enhance health research and interventions.

Prof. (Dr) Nikhil Tandon (Chairman)
Head of Department, Endocrinology and Metabolism, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

Prof. Nikhil Tandon, Professor and Head, Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, AIIMS, New Delhi is a master clinician in endocrinology and diabetes, an active researcher with interest in epidemiology of chronic non-communicable disease (NCD); genetics of complex disorders; and intervention studies to improve of quality of care in NCDs.   These studies have evaluated strategies, involving technology, to improve quality of diabetes care in the clinic and the broader health systems.   He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Indian Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences (India), the Indian National Science Academy, and has been conferred the Dr BC Roy Award and the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

Prof. (Dr) Pratima Murthy
Director, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences

Prof. (Dr) Pratima Murthy is Director and Senior Professor of Psychiatry at NIMHANS, Bengaluru. She was formerly Head of Psychiatry and the Centre for Addiction Medicine at NIMHANS. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Glasgow. Dr Murthy's areas of specialization include substance use prevention and intervention, human rights of the mentally ill and public mental health. She has been a consultant to several international organizations such as the WHO, UNODC, ILO in the areas of substance use and mental health.

Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Velu Nair is the Head & Chief Consultant – Haemato-Oncology, BMT and Cellular Therapies at the Apollo Hospital International Limited, Ahmedabad. He is an alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC). A Gold Medalist in MBBS and MD (Medicine) from Pune University. He obtained his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplantation from Christian Medical College, Vellore and completed two UICC fellowships from King’s College & Hospital, London, and Stanford Medical Centre and Stanford University, USA. He has pioneered the setting up of a network of BMT centres in the Armed Forces which is the largest in the country. He has held several prestigious appointments such as, Presidents Honorary Surgeon (PHS); Director General of Medical Services (DGMS), Army and Navy; Dean, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune and Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS), New Delhi; President of ISHTM and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee of NIV-ICMR, Pune A teacher of eminence with over 29 years of teaching experience and Examiner for MD & DNB Medicine and DM Hematology and PhD and received the Teacher award for Excellence in Medical Education from National Board of Examination. Gen Nair is an avid Researcher who has conducted significant clinical trials on stem cells, hospital infections, thrombosis and hematological malignancies. He has over 300 publications, abstracts and chapters in international and national journals. He has also authored three textbooks in Medicine. In his illustrious career in the Armed Forces, he has been conferred with four Presidential awards including the prestigious, Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal, twice and four times Chief of Army Staff Commendation. He has also received several other prestigious national awards including, Maj Gen Amir Chand Award & Oration, by National Academy of Medical Sciences; Rabindranath Tagore Oration by the Association Physicians of India; Manorama Sapre Oration & Award by Indian Society of hematology and transfusion medicine; JB Chatterjea Oration Award by Indian Society of hematology and transfusion medicine; Dr. LK Bhutani Oration Award by All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, besides 15 other awards. Gen Nair was the Chairman of the Nuclear Accident Management Committee of APBMT and has played a key advisory role in nuclear accident management and national health initiatives and continues to contribute significantly to medical research, education, and national health policy.

Dr Harsh Mahajan ​
Founder & Chief Radiologist, Mahajan Imaging

Dr Harsh Mahajan is an Indian radiologist and one of the pioneers of imaging technology in India. He is the founder of Mahajan Imaging, a diagnostic imaging centre in the Indian capital of New Delhi. He is a former president of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) and the director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Bone Densitometry at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He has served as the honorary radiologist to the President of India and as the Honorary Consultant to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He is on the Board of Advisors of Rishihood University. He has published several articles on clinical radiography and other medical topics. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2002.

He is an accomplished neurosurgeon, with qualifications including MBBS, MS, MCh, and DNB. Before joining SCTIMST, he was Professor & Head of Neurosurgery at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. Since April 2022, he has held the directorship at SCTIMST. Under his leadership, the institute continues its mission in advanced medical research, education, and development of medical technologies.

Prof. Mohamed Rela ​
Chairman and Managing Director, Rela Hospital ​

Prof. Mohamed Rela is an internationally acclaimed liver transplant surgeon and Chairman & Managing Director of the Dr. Rela Institute & Medical Centre, India. He is the President Elect of the International Living Donor Liver Transplantation Group (iLDLT Group) and Councilor for The Transplantation Society (TTS), representing South and Southeast Asia. A pioneer in liver transplantation, Prof. Rela has performed over 6,000 liver transplants, leading one of India’s busiest programs with more than 300 transplants annually. He has authored 900+ peer-reviewed publications, contributed 35 book chapters including in Gray’s Anatomy and Bailey & Love’s Short Practice of Surgery, and received over 20 international awards. He holds a Guinness World Record for performing a liver transplant on a five-day-old infant in 1997.

Dr Devinder Singh Rana​
Chairman, Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society

Dr Devinder Singh Rana, is a recipient of Padma Shri and Dr. B.C. Roy National Awards. He is one India’s most eminent and pioneer nephrologists. He established the department of nephrology and kidney transplantation at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in 1981 and headed it till 2021. He was Chairman, Board of Management of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital from 2011 to 2022. He is now Emeritus Professor and Director of Institute of Renal Sciences, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and the Chairman of Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society. He has served as member of Central Governing Body of AIIMS, New Delhi and SGPGIMS, Lucknow, and is also a member of various advisory bodies to the Government of India and Government of Delhi. Previously, he has held key positions in various national and international professional bodies of nephrology, dialysis and kidney transplantation.

Dr Suresh Advani is the Mentor, Onco-Sciences at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre. He has a rich experience of 50 years in Medical Oncology. His areas of expertise are Bone marrow and Stem cell transplant, Lymphomas, Acute leukemias, Multiple myeloma, Breast Cancer, Spreading Cancer awareness and Cancer education, and Clinical Trials. Since 1974, Dr Advani has been involved with Medical Oncology/Hematology along with strong interaction with other clinical branches and basic scientists. At present, his strong interest is to develop developmental therapeutics with clinical research program. This will have integrated projects involving all the branches of clinical oncology as well as potential basic research. He has started biological therapeutics targeting various molecular targets on cancer cells. At present he is working on the project for transfer of technology in CAR-T cell therapy.

Prof. (Dr) NK Arora is trained in Pediatrics and was a faculty member at the department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition AIIMS, New Delhi during 1983-2005. Since 2005, he is the Executive Director of the INCLEN Trust International (INCLEN) based in New Delhi, India. As a public health specialist (since 1997), Professor Arora has made seminal contributions to research, policy and program translations, at both national and global levels. In 2018, he was appointed as President for AIIMS Deoghar (A new National Institution of Eminence) to steer this national centre of excellence in clinical care, research and training. Prof Arora currently serves as Chairman of the COVID-19 Working Group – NTAGI; the National Certification Committee for Polio Eradication, and the National Verification Committee for Measles, Rubella and CRS.

Dr Vivek Nangia
Principal Director, Pulmonology, Max Super speciality Hospital and Smart Max Hospital

Dr Vivek Nangia is an internationally renowned Pulmonologist, with over two decades of rich clinical experience. Trained at some of the leading institutions in the world, such as Stanford University, London University, Cleveland Clinics and Royal Brampton Hospital, Dr Nangia has made seminal contributions towards the evolution of the field of Pulmonology in India, from its nascent stage in 1990s to integrating it with Critical Care and Sleep Disorders as we know it today. His exemplary contributions to COVID care include serving probably the largest number of patients including those requiring intensive care in the country. In the past, he has served as Head and Director of the Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Fortis Flt Lt Rajan Dhall Hospital and Max Hospitals, Delhi.

He has been felicitated with several coveted awards, including Modern School, Barakhamba Road's Award of Excellence, ET Now's Most Inspiring Doctor in India award, Susruta Award by Max Healthcare and the Brands Achiever Best Pulmonologist in India award. He is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America & American College of Chest Physicians. He is a revered teacher and mentor, and has several publications in peer- reviewed journals and text books to his credit. He has also co-authored a book titled “Sleep Related Breathing Disorders”.
